It’s a beautiful place…look below for a few pictures…..almost no fitnah here compared to the United States alhamdulillah. As long as you don’t go clubbing and don’t go to the bars or resorts and casinos…you’re fine. I love this place. there are a few Muslims here maybe about 200-300 max. but almost all of them are students at the Medical School here. The MSA is fairly big about 80 active members, it’s very open. And a few more people than that come to jumu’ah which takes place at the MSA President’s house (I think they call it the Jumu’ah House). If anyone decides to come here then holler at me.
Insha’Allah i plan on posting more often now that I might have frequent access to the internet.
until then enjoy-
This is the main mountain (i think), the highest peak ont he island…a dormant volcanoe…
The view from my place in S. Kitts. I came here with two other friends and it’s been really chill. We live in a fairly big villa, it has a huge patio facing th Atlantic ocean. The waves down at the beach are pretty rough, you can drown and I almost did. they’re crazy strong.
Mad props to Belal from LeechOn Films for recording and producing this and putting it up on YouTube. And not to forget the Rutgers MSA who put this event on back on March 24th. I don’t have to say much else but read this first and then of you haven’t watched the previous video, watch it. And then insha’Allah watch the following videos-
Got the following message from a dear brother – please read!
Assalamoalaikum warahmatullah,
The largest earthquake to hit South Asia in a century devastated the region on the morning of Saturday, October 8, 2005. The 7.6 magnitude earthquake affected Kashmir, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan, destroying entire towns and villages. Over 40,000 people were reported dead, and an additional 3 million were left homeless. Over 5 million people, men, women, children, and elderly have been affected by this disaster whose epicenter was close to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistani-administered Kashmir.
On behalf of Islamic Relief, you and your family are cordially invited to attend our dinner to learn about the current situation of your brother’s and sister’s in the land of Kashmir. The earthquake may have been in late 2005, but the effort to rebuild their lives is far from over.
Our dinner will be held this Friday May 11th at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Houston, University Center, located at 4800 Calhoun Rd. The evening will begin promptly with Maghrib salah, heart felt stories and updates about the situation in Kashmir and Islamic Relief project updates from Br. Azhar Azeez and Imam Johari Abdul Malik, a video presentation, eye-witness accounts, and nasheed and poetry performances to end the night. Tickets are $15 per individual and $40 per family and you may purchase them at your masjid or at the door. Babysitting is also provided by Straight Path Center at $10 a child.
It is our sincere wish to see you all there this Friday, insha’Allah. Please bring your family and all your family friends. If you have invitations this Friday, postpone then, and instead invite your friends to this more than worthy cause. Our Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) once said: “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity” (At-Tirmidhi). And Allah the Most High says, “And be steadfast in your prayer and pay charity; whatever good you send forth for your future, you shall find it with Allah, for Allah is well aware of what you do (2:110)”.
If you found yourself in a similar situation you would hope the people of Kashmir and your brother’s and sister’s around the world would come running to your aid. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to help those who are in desperate need of our help. We hope that you make this event your priority to answer the cries of our Muslim brother’s and sister’s half-way across the world!
For more information, please feel free to contact me at (832) 656-7618 or you may email me at imran@crescentyouth.com. If you are unable to attend, please be sure to generously donate online at http://www.irw.org.
Wasalamualikum warahmatullah

Masha’Allah this is an awesome workshop by Ahmed Sidky. The recording was done at UT Austin on Friday February 9th, 2007. The same workshop but a little bit more detailed and intensive one was done at Masjid alHamza – Mission Bend Masjid on Saturday, February 10th, 2007 from ‘Asr to Isha which was recorded by Muslim Audio, alhamdulillah! So look out for the professional and official recording of this product soon from Muslim Audio!
This is a decent quality recording of the workshop by a brother from the UT MSA. I have edited the tracks due to the enormous length and split them according to the stages that Ahmed Sidky talked about. The Hereafter which includes Death, the Grave, the Last Day, Hellfire and Paradise, are fundamental concepts that every Muslim should know about. The more one knows about these concepts the more he or she will find his/her eeman increasing. Other concepts from the Hereafter like the Signs of the Day of Judgment are not mentioned in this lecture. Ahmed Sidky also did this awesome talk at the ISNA Dallas Conference in the summer of 2006 about Paradise which literally had the entire crowd in tears. Insha’Allah once I get a hold of that I will try to upload it as well. Allah Knows Best. The Total Run time for the entire recording of this workshop is about 3 Hours and 4 Minutes! Enjoy!
UPDATE: The download link is at the bottom and The Q&A is up as well – Click Here!!
asSalaam ‘alaykum wa Rahamtullah,
This is in regards to this post from earlier in the week. I got my hands on the audio alhamdulillah. I thought this was an awesome lecture, and really benefited from the few ahadithShaykh Yasir Qadhi quoted that I had never heard before. The other stuff he talked about was discussed many times before and I have heard it multiple times alhamdulillah. An example of this is at the lecture at MIST National in the Summer of ’06 in Houston, TX entitled – Advice from an Older Brother.
One thing I noticed about this talk was that he heavily emphasized learning two fields in Islam that every Muslim should ahve a basic fundamental understanding of, namely, ‘Aqeedah (He said theology, I’m not too comfortable using the word yet) and Fiqh. And he recommended some books and audio lectures that everyone should read or listen to. They are:
The available audio itself – Pros – I edited all the technical issues that we had and most of the disturbances. Also took out long pauses and breaks or questions about missed information from the call. Cons – No Q&A (read further) and no download for right now. I will post the Q&A later in the week insha’Allah, Make du’aa to Allah. There were about 14 amazing and really juicy (some of them) questions. I have it ready just need time to perfect it a bit more insha’Allah, and possibly post it here. And the download I am holding off on, it will take me a while to get all the files together into a high quality mp3 and also need to get approval from CZ MSA (The best MSA Zone in N. America), isnha’Allah. So just sit tight, and until then just listen to the audio insha’Allah!

The Perfect Balance: The Moderation of Ahli Sunnha wal Jama’ah
Taught by Shaykh AbdulRahman Chao Saturday April 14th Mission Bend Masjid alHamza Dhuhr (2PM) to Isha (9:15PM)
Br AbdulRahman ibn Esa Chao
AbdulRahman Chao is an Islamic Studies teacher and khateeb at Darussalam Masjid and Alhuda School in College Park, Maryland. In the Summer of 2006, he became one of the youngest people to graduate from the Islamic University of Medinah at age 21. He memorized the Quran at a young age and used to study at the IIASA in Virginia. Besides English, he is fluent in Arabic, Mandarin and speaks Urdu.
The Perfect Balance: The Moderation of Ahli Sunnah wal Jama’ah
In this seminar Shyakh AbdulRahman Chao will teach us how the poeple that stick to the Sunnah avoid falling into religious extremes when they follow the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). After all the only yard-stick we have that is infallible are the Quran and Sunnah. Thus this path is the path that is the most moderate, it guides us to not infringe upon the rights of our creator as well as the rights of others. It is the most balanced path, where it shows us through the example of the Prophet (sal Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) to balance our hereafter with the this world and the deen with the dunya. We all supplicate multiple times a day to be upon the straight path, and little do we realize that this straight path is the most perfect path which is the most moderate path devoid of religious extremes. Int he seminar, the instructor will give an analysis of how the People of the SUnnah (Ahlus Sunnah) fall in the middle, avoiding extremes, of not only the sects within ISlam but also they fall in the middle path between all the other religions. I refer you to a quote regarding this by Ibn Taymiyya (RA) here!
It’s been a while since this website has been launched. I guess I am kind of late at doing this. I am backed up on a lot of my emails. So Muslim Matters is a new website about “Discourses in the Intellectual Traditions, Political Situation, and Social Ethics of Muslim Life”. Also I would like to mention that I happen to know half the Writers on the Editorial Staff and Guest Writers. Please visit, read, and enjoy:
