Explanation of Kitaab atTawheed: Yasir Qadhi

asSalaam ‘alaykum wa Rahamtullah,

There seems to be an issue with people being unable to find a working download destination for Kitaab atTaweed’s Sharh by Yasir Qadhi. I know it’s available on AudioIslam.com but everytime I go to that website it seems to be very slow and I think it’s mostly due to the high traffic they get and insufficient bandwidth. So to provide another source for downloading the audio I have uploaded these on FileFront alhamdulillah. One thing to note here is that this isn’t the same copy of Kitaab atTawheed that is available on AudioIslam. This copy is much better in quality and is a much bigger download. If you click on the link below it will tell you exactly how long and how big each file is. The total size of the series that I have is about 1.33 GB. I ripped this off the original CD set that was given to one of the students that took this class with Yasir Qadhi for doing well on the exams.

Kitaab atTawheed of Shaykh ul Islam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab

As a side note the way this series is taught is that a brother reads a section of each chapter and then Yasir explains it. He explains this methodology in the beginning of the lecture. If you want to know who the person that is reading the actual text is, you should ask Hood at Islamic Law Etc. A Sister is compiling the notes from this lecture series at her blog at InexplicableTimelessness.

Adhaan from Dammaaj, Yemen: Shaykh Yahya alHajooree

asSalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahamtullaaah,

Masha’Allah a dear brother (AbdulHasib) sent me this audio recording entitled “Giving the Adhaan according to the Sunnah”. Shaykh Yahya alHajooree – hafidhuhullah – is giving the adhaan in this 2 minute piece. I haven’t been able to find a bio of Shaykh Yahya alHajooree on the web in English. If someone does then please comment with the link, jazakAllahu khayran. From what I have heard he is heading up Dar alHadeeth in Dammaaj, Yemen. The madrasah is like a camp style setting where they have a traditional method of instruction. They have classes for beginner students as there are many foreign students over there. Also they have accomodations for sisters to study as well as Shaykh Muqbil’s – rahimullah – daughter is an alimah and she intructs the female students form what I understand. If anyone knows better then please correct me. jazakAllahu khayran. waAllahu ‘Alam.

Siraj Wahhaj: Free Speech and Islam

Alhamdulillah was salaatus salaamu ‘alaa Rasool Allah, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam

Free Speech and Islam
by Imam Siraj Wahhaj

This is an audio lecture form the University of Virginia – MSA’s Islamic Awareness Week where Imaam Siraj Wahhaj gives a short talk in response to the Danish Cartoons Controversy. I think the Islamic Awareness Week’s theme was “The Cartoon Controversy and the True Character of the Prophet (sal Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)” The talk is mainly about the Freedom of Speech and Islam. Imam Siraj Wahhaj goes a little bit into his personal issues about this and how he is being called by others as a co-conspirator of the 9/11 event even though he has nothing to do with it. He also mentions how some people take a small amount of debatable information and over exaggerate it and pass it of as a real truth, and how it is being done to him and how it affects others. It’s a decent lecture to listen to in a car going to or comming back from school or work, not too intensive or anything. Allahu ‘Alim.

The World’s Bravest People
by Muhammad alShareef

I decided to post this audio lecture/khutbah by Ustadh Muhammad alShareef here because to be honest, I don’t think I have heard a khutbah more powerful than this, ever, in my whole life! Masha’Allah it seems like there are a lot of emotions that are being expressed by Ustadh in this khutbah and almost everyone I have given a copy of this khutbah to has said the same thing, they all have been moved by it. If you ever feel that you are being neglectful about your brothers in the rest of the world listen to this. I dont want to describe the content of this khutbah, but I guarentee you that inshaAllah you will have your heart beating and blood flowing faster than normal after hearing this awesome lecture.
